Cultural Geography

Today we had gone over the introduction of the new geography unit. It is cultural geography. Cultural Geography is the geography that every bodies culture has an effect on how we think and act. Like we were shown a chart in class that showed what people call carbonated beverages. There were different spots on the map surrounded by other that is how people keep there ethnic back ground they keep what they were taught growing up in life. If they are taught to think away growing up then that is how they think in life just because they move they don't leave there culture behind.

Israel National Anthem It is a soft melody and that is not close to Americas national anthem. This anthem is like Funeral music it is soft and it is peaceful unlike Americas that is about war.

Test Day

Today we took our leader's test. We had all class to take it and we had to write and essay on why is was wrong to assassinate the president of the United States. I thought that if we assassinate the president then we are going against Socrates methods that it is the peoples choice. If we assassinate the president then we are taking away the from the people that choice the person to be the leader. 

Israel, Brazil, Mexico and Syria

Israel is a Parliamentary Democracy. There president can serve one term and the terms are 7 years long. There prime minister serves for life. They are both elected by Knesset. The Knesset is Israels congress. Brazil's government is a Federal Republic and the current president is Dilma Rosseff and they have 6 year terms and can run as many times as they want but can not run more then two times in a row. Mexico is also a federal republic with Enrique Pena Nieto. They can serve 1 term that is 6 years long. He plans to stop the drug cartel but there are conspiracies that Enrique is helping the drug cartel. Syria is a republic under an authoritarian regime. They have been in a civil war with them selves scene 2011.  

Russia and China

Russia is a federal semi-presidential constitutional republic. Vladimir Putin in the supreme leader of Russia. He can change anything he wants in the constitution. He changed the number of years that he can be in office. He changed it to that he is in office for 6 instead of 4 years and he can stay in office for as many terms as he wants. He has changed it from 2 till three and he will change it so that he can stay in office for longer. China is a communist state. There is no impeachment on the Chinese main land. Hong Kong and Taiwan have different governments then China main land. What ever the people of China own the government owns. The people don't pick the leader the communist perty picks the leader. 

German and Japan

Germany has a federal republic with a president Joachim Gauck and a chancellor Angela Merkel the most powerful women in the world. They had two governments until the destruction of the Berlin wall in November 3,1989. It was put up in August 13, 1961. If you were to the west then you were under the Communist command of Russia. To the east you were under the freedom of the United States government. Japan is a constitutional monarchy where the emperor has no power at all he is just a figure head like a queen. The prime minister has control of the government. Emperor Jimmu is the 125 decedent of the first emperor. 

Presentations

Today we had two groups go. We had Zack and Rory with France and we had Veronica and Alyssa had done the United Kingdom. Tomorrow we start with John and Parker. I learned that the United Kingdom was a constitutional monarchy and that they have had that form of government for a long time. Queen Elizabeth has been in office for the last 63 years. The Prime Minister is in office for as long as the people like him and what he is doing.
